It is hard to balance the quality and the price of a product, so the contradiction between these two elements intrigues people’s concern. Some argue that quality is necessary, but others insist that price is the first thing that should be considered while making products. For my part, it is not an either-or question, which means quality and price can count in different situations.

Quality is indispensable for durable products, such as mechanical appliance, car and air-conditioner, etc. Products of such kind are the ones that can offer customers convenience and improve their life quality or work efficiency. If these products are not long-lasting, they may break apart within a short period of time, or cannot work stably all the time. How can buyers realize their dreaming convenience and efficiency? Instead, they even may have to have their devices repaired frequently, which is an annoying experience for customers.

On the other hand, if the products are non-durable goods, such as food, drink, stationery and so forth, price can be put into a higher priority than quality. As for the sellers, lower price can attract more customers, bringing more revenue for shopkeepers. As for the buyers, lower price may reduce the cost of living and the burden of life. Admittedly, lower price also means lower quality, which may adversely affects the credibility of producers. However, customers can weigh all these factors based on the characteristic of non-durable products.

To sum up, whether products should be guaranteed the quality or be sold in lower price depends on the types of those products.
